Colorado National Monument Trip

Join us for a great 3 Day Weekend Trip to the Western Slope of Colorado and parts of Utah, July 10th through 12th.  All are welcome from the RMSSC and other clubs and individuals.

Below is the planned itinerary.  Please note that the hotel choices are recommended but not mandatory and you must make your own individual  hotel reservations.

RMSSC Colorado Monument Trip Plan
Friday, July 10th
9:45AM       Meet at the Park Meadows Mall near Nordstroms/Park N Ride
10:00AM     Depart for Grand Junction via C-470 to I-70 to Grand Junction
10:30AM     Quick stop to pick up others at I-70 Exit 256, Cabrini Shrine exit (meet in lot just off freeway on right)
12:30PM     Quick Lunch in Avon, CO (Burger King, McDonalds, Subway, etc)
1:00PM       Back on the road
5:15PM       Arrive at DoubleTree Hotel in Grand Junction. 
                  743 Horizon Dr., Grand Junction, CO 81506. 
                  Hotel Rates: Fed Govt $91.00, Chevron $95.00, AAA $107.10
                  Settle in and freshen up
6:30PM       Meet for dinner at WW Peppers, 753 Horizon Ct, Grand Junction (970) 245 9251
Saturday, July 11th
7:30 AM     Breakfast in Doubletree Hotel
8:45AM      Gather in Doubletree Parking lot
9:00AM      Depart for Colorado National Monument.  Leisurely drive stopping many times for views and photos. Continue on to Fruita for lunch
                  Route: Horizon St, to 7th St., to W Grand Ave., to Broadway, to Hwy 340, to Monument Rd., to Rim Rock Dr. into east entrance to Colorado National Monument.  Exit West entrance to Hwy 340 into Fruita (Driving time 75 min)
12:00PM    Lunch in Fruita at Judy's Family Restaurant, (970) 858-8351, 435 Highway 6 And 50 Fruita CO 81521
1:00PM      Depart for Moab. Leisurely drive stopping many times for views and photos.  Return to Grand Junction for dinner.
                 Route: I-70 West to exit 214 (Cisco), to US-6, to UT-128 through Goblin and Fisher Valleys, down Colorado River Gorge.  To US-191 south to city of Moab. (Driving time ~2 hours).
4:00PM      Arrive at Hampton Inn Hotel in Moab.

5:30PM      Dinner in Moab TBD (Can you suggest a place?)
Sunday, July 12th

7:30 AM     Breakfast in Hampden Inn Hotel
9:00AM      Depart to Arches National Park (if desired).
                 Route: US-191 to entrance to Arches, drive though Arches as desired.
11:00AM    Depart for home on your own (~ 6.0 hours to Denver)

Loveland Car Show - July 25th

Welcome to the Rocky Mountain Solstice & Sky Club

We are delighted to announce the formation of the Rocky Mountain Solstice & Sky Club, the Denver Area Chapter of the GM Roadster Car Club.

Founded in 2006, the GM Roadster Car Club is the first and largest national car club for owners of Saturn Skys and Pontiac Solstices, with chapters growing in every corner of the US, and soon internationally.

Our local chapter has identified the following event goals:

  • Monthly Rides and/or Dinner Events
  • Quarterly Weekend/Overnight Rides
  • Racing & Technical Events
